Second wave of corona virus and educational institutions: 'I love my child's life and health more than two hours of school'

Sarah, a resident of Lahore, is terrified of the second wave of corona virus in Pakistan and says, "I don't want to send my child to school in these circumstances."

One of Sarah's sons is a second-grade student at a private school in Lahore and, like other mothers, is unwilling to compromise on her child's health.

According to the Punjab Health Department, 446 students and teachers have been infected with the corona virus in the last two months since the school reopened, while the infection rate in educational institutions is around one per cent.

Second wave of corona virus and educational institutions: 'I love my child's life and health more than two hours of school'

It may be recalled that the NCOC has already expressed concern over the rising number of corona cases in educational institutions. After which it has been suggested to make the winter holidays quicker and longer.

In this regard, on November 16, the Federal Minister for Education will consult with the ministers of different provinces and will decide on the future situation in the country's educational institutions.

According to Omar Khayyam, spokesman for the Punjab School Education Department, the schools in which cases of corona virus have been found in large numbers have been closed.

So far, 28 schools across Punjab have been closed by the Punjab School Education Department. Over the past week, however, the number of people infected with the corona virus in educational institutions has risen sharply.
